Healthy Tips During the Month of Ramadan

During the month of Ramadan, all Muslims are required to refrain from hunger and thirst for more than 12 hours.

Thus, under these conditions, the body will not be properly hydrated, nor will its daily vitamin needs be met. Additionally, the obligation to increase the volume of worship and wake up in the middle of the night for suhoor disrupts sleep patterns.

Such conditions can lead to health problems. Therefore, guidelines or tips on maintaining good health during Ramadan are essential to understand and apply properly.

  1. Healthy Suhoor Eating Habits
    Suhoor plays a crucial role in maintaining stamina throughout fasting and daily activities. To support this, increase your intake of fiber-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables, and avoid oily foods, as they can clog blood vessels and cause drowsiness during the day.

  2. Eating Habits for Iftar
    Consuming a large amount of food immediately after breaking the fast can cause stomach discomfort. Instead, eat in moderation and gradually, starting with water and a small portion of sweet foods.

  3. Maintaining a Healthy Dinner Pattern
    Overeating at dinner can lead to obesity, so it should be avoided. Additionally, avoid consuming coffee and soda, as they can disrupt sleep and contribute to fat accumulation.

  4. Physical Activity: At Least 30 Minutes
    Even during fasting, physical activity remains essential for maintaining body fitness.

  5. Maintaining a Healthy Sleep Pattern
    Since you need to prepare for suhoor and wake up early in the morning, avoid staying up late for unnecessary activities.
