Kidney Health

The kidneys are one of the vital organs that play an important role in the human body, one of which is filtering the blood.

  1. Consuming Healthy and Nutritious Food
    You can consume food with a balanced diet. Increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables can also help maintain kidney health. Additionally, you can choose foods that are beneficial for kidney health and contain balanced ions.

  2. Drinking Enough Water
    The kidneys also play a role in the production of urine. Drinking water helps in the excretion of toxins through urine. Therefore, drinking enough water can lighten the kidneys' work in producing urine. It is recommended to drink at least 2 liters of water per day.

  3. Maintaining Stable Blood Pressure
    Yes, high blood pressure is one of the factors that can cause kidney health problems. Therefore, it is important to maintain stable blood pressure to ensure kidney health. You can keep your blood pressure stable by getting enough sleep, limiting salt intake to no more than 2,000 milligrams or about one teaspoon per day, managing stress, and more.

  4. Quit Smoking and Avoid Excessive Alcohol Consumption
    Smoking and excessive alcohol consumption can trigger an increase in blood pressure and affect kidney health. Cigarettes are also known to contain toxic substances that can impede blood circulation. When blood circulation is obstructed, the kidneys need to work harder to filter it.

  5. Dieting to Maintain a Healthy Weight
    This diet is performed to prevent obesity. Obesity or excess weight causes the kidneys to work extra hard to filter out food toxins, which can affect kidney function.

  6. Taking Medicines and Supplements According to Doctor's Instructions
    Because consuming medication that is not in accordance with the doctor's instructions can lead to overdose. Overdose can damage organs in the body, including the kidneys.

  7. Exercising Regularly
    Regular exercise helps improve blood circulation. As a result, the kidneys can filter blood optimally. Moreover, exercise can also help maintain blood pressure and body weight, which are closely related to kidney health.
