Prevents Tired Eyes When Working in Front of the Monitor

Your eye muscles work harder when you look at an electronic screen.

Initial symptoms include red eyes and blurry or shadowy vision. Apart from that, you can also experience other symptoms which include :

  1. Double vision and eyes more sensitive to bright light
  2. Dry eyes, as if something is stuck or burning
  3. Headache and discomfort in the neck or back area (tension headache)
  4. The eyes tend to have difficulty focusing when looking from one object to another

How to Prevent Tired Eyes
You can adopt some good habits to protect your eyes. These habits include:

  1. Leave a distance of about 60–65 cm or an arm's length between the computer screen and your face
  2. Try to make sure the center of the screen forms an angle of around 10–15⁰ below the eyes by adjusting the work table
  3. Understand the 20-20-20 rule, that is, every 20 minutes look at an object 20 feet (6 meters) away for 20 seconds
  4. Stop looking at the computer screen for 15 minutes if you have been looking at the screen for 2 hours
  5. Try to blink more often and use eye drops containing artificial tears if your eyes feel dry
  6. Don't look at a computer screen in a dark room because the computer light that appears can be brighter
  7. Have regular eye examinations at least once a year if you often stare at a computer screen for hours a day
  8. If you wear contact lenses, try replacing them with glasses every once in a while
  9. Use of contact lenses can be a risk factor that increases dry eyes.

You can also prevent eye fatigue by changing the settings on your computer or gadget. The method is as follows:

  1. Set the text size to be larger
  2. Balance the gadget's light with the surrounding light
  3. Increases contrast on the gadget screen
  4. Lowering the color temperature on the gadget screen
  5. Reduce the intensity of gadget light by using a screen filter

Apply the habits above to the maximum so that your eye health can be maintained even if you have to stare at a computer screen or gadget for a long time. Consult an eye doctor if your tired eye complaints do not improve after resting or occur repeatedly.
