Relaxation

Relaxation is an effort to reduce tension in the mind and body. It is a very helpful technique to make you feel more relaxed and reduce stress.

Relaxation Techniques
There are various relaxation techniques you can try, including the following as mentioned by Help Guide:

  • Deep Breathing
    As the name suggests, this technique requires you to regulate your breathing regularly. You can combine it with other relaxation techniques, such as aromatherapy and music.

  • Muscle Relaxation
    Muscle relaxation is the second technique you can try. Essentially, this technique is very similar to a warm-up before exercising. It’s highly recommended to start with your leg muscles, then move to the muscles in the upper body.

  • Body Scan Meditation
    As the name implies, this technique focuses on scanning all the sensations you feel in each part of your body without labeling whether those sensations are good or bad. How does body scan meditation work? Essentially, you need to completely shift your focus to a specific part of your body for a few seconds and notice what you feel. Then, you move your focus to another part of your body. Repeat this step until you have scanned all the areas that cause pain or discomfort.

  • Massage
    In addition to spa massages, you can also perform several massage techniques at home, such as massaging your head, shoulders, neck, and face. Start with areas where the muscles feel tense.

  • Yoga
    Yoga is a technique that combines various movements with breathing techniques. In addition to reducing tension, other benefits of yoga include improving stamina, balance, strength, and flexibility. When you experience physical and mental fatigue at work, relaxation is one of the solutions.
